so I'm following a demolition job at work and I run across this... they actually had 2 but i only got one. took it apart and made the canopy for the lights for my 400 gallon build. I'll be doing all T5. this fixture as you see it had no ballasts but ( 8 ) 400 watt high pressure sodium bulbs.... 3200 watts! and the area was only about 10 square feet!!! I can't imagine what NASA used that for. I think that would light a reef tank pretty well. mogul bases about to be listed in for sale section

Looks like a setup for a paint drying station or cooking something. Put that over a tank and you would boil the water before the chiller could even think about cooling it.

i was looking at the wiring on it... it had a CAT5 network cable going to it... whatever it was, i wonder if they could control it online or monitor it. I MIGHT be getting another one... depends on if the first deal falls through or not.
