I feel for you! I've already had 2 mishaps in the last 24 hours with my still new tank. First I dropped in a bag of carbon and didn't realize it got stuck to the skimmer intake and the skimmer ran all day wet skimming, filled up the cup and leaked some. So I got a lecture about paying attention to how the things work in the sump.

Then yesterday, I decided to make some water and had my bucket in the kitchen with the hose in it and I hear this big THUMP sound and then I hear water spraying. I go to see what is going on and I see water coming out from under the cabinet where the RO/DI is. I start freaking out and trying to get the cabinet open - we have a child proof lock on it, one of the really annoying magnet ones - and once I get the cabinet open, I'm getting sprayed and water is going VERY fast all over the kitchen floor and island behind me. I started turning off water and finally got the right one on the third valve. I was soaked from the skin out and had the baby on my back and 2 boys coming in to gawk at the "mess Mommy made!" We used ALL the towels I had just washed and folded to mop up the water (hey, the kitchen got mopped!) and hubby just had to reattach a hose when he got home.

hmmmm, tile floors are sounding better & better

It happens to all of us, we should learn from these little mishaps so they aren't repeated. I am reluctant to tell my stories, my loving wife visits the forum on occasion, she would be P.O!

It really sucks when stuff like this happens, but it is really funny to read everyone elses stories. Sure makes me feel like less of an idiot. Seems like the slow silent mishaps are the real killers. Like turning on the rodi to fill up a 5 gallon conaitner for top off, and forgetting about it over night. We use our waste water too so there was a flood in the garage. It needed a rinse anyway.

I have flooded the hallway entry to the garage about 8 times w/R/O collection. Luckily it is painted concrete. Took up the carpet after the second time.
Float valve after the 6th time then got a new tank. Valve musta slipped on new installation and flooded again. I gotta talk to someone that really knows how to fix this..... :-x
As long as I clean it up no one volunteers to help or yell @ me so....

It is my hobby......
