Are there sales at these expos or more just being able to shop a wide variety of different shops at one location? this would be my first time attending one of these and I'm just curious what to expect.

I would expect some deals if you buy multiple items. You can always try to haggle. The earlier you go, you catch the good stuff. The later you go, the better chance of getting a deal. Just my opinion though.
