How many actinic T5 is good???? (1 Viewer)

I have my 165G (60x24x27) up and running with 4-4ftVHO right now with only softy in my tank. I also 2-175MH but not currently on since I don't have any thing hard yet. I plan to buy 8-T5 Sun blaze from Bay aquarium to light up my tank. But this set only 4ft instead of 5ft as my tank. I will paln some SPS and clam and some softy. What T5 bulbs should I get? Any one have use this Sun blaze yet??? Thank you for your help

There 80 watt T5 made for 60in tanks.

I would do a mix of 6500k t5, actinics and ~11000k-14000k bulb. Number of each is up to too depending on weither you want max growth or are going for a certain lighting color look.

As far as manufacturers, Geissman, ATI, UVL, KZ, they are all popular and good.

Are you still going to use the MH or is the T5 going to replace the vho and the MH?

If all your looking for is acintic with the MH why not leave 2 of the VHO and call it a day?

I plan to replace my MH since I think it will hot with my canopy. What do you think.

I'll have to look at it again. Mine are 250w on a smaller tank and canopy and my temp is fine. Kind of a half glass empty or full type situation. If you like T5's and have the extra $ go for it.

I run the 250w and 2 48" VHO for actinics. IF you want to come by and see let me know.

I am using 2 geismann actinic+ on the outsides and a geismann aquablue and a uvl actinic white on the insides of my 4 bulbs setup. I just pulled my GE 6500k yesterday because it was bleaching all my stuff out
