Karen,
Okay, they were laid a few days ago. They are not ready to hatch yet, but they are silvery now. I give it a few more days...Sorry I didn't count, since I don't raise them I didn't pay much attention.
The only thing about replacing the barnacle shell - no problem, and I will give it a try....but these maroons - darn them - is they spawn in a new spot EVERY time...I mean, they will go back to an old spot a few spawnings later, but they never spawn over the same place in a row...quirky and picky they are.
But maybe if I put in a new shell, they might like it. It's just that these guys just don't seem to follow the pattern of picking a flat smooth surface. I tried that many times, and they ignored the flat piece. But I will try again.
Karen, also just want to say thanks for being patient w/ me these past couple months...I just had to separate myself until I started healing again....didn't mean to alienate you or ignore you, by the way.
So, yeah, if you want to start your rotifer stuff and all, I will watch the eggs, and I will go get another couple smooth shell thingies and see if they like those....If you think you'll be ready in the next couple days, I can plan to meet you...
Let me know what you think.
Kim
