Yeah I think coming off the side was my problem. Need to do it more like the last pic just straight across. Figure 2 (3/4) holes would provide plenty of extra flow. Although I might just wait for the dollar sale and see if I can't fit a 40g under there but I think I had already took those measurements and I'm an inch or two shy if it's a 36 inch tank. Display is a 6ft...

Yep that brace is killing you along with the 90's and 1/2" plumbing. :)

I'd personally take those strainers off, remove the plumbing, buy two bulkhead plugs from Lowes and plug them up. Pick up a can of Krylon Fusion and spray the plugs black to match the bulkheads. It won't look too bad until you figure something out. Then you can start the new project!

Buy two 1.5" bulkheads and join the tanks together. Or one large 2" or 3" hole.

Another thought is flip the 20 long around. Then the hole would be in the back RT corner. If you painted the back of the 20 long black, you'd hardly see the plug. The sump isn't so easy, but at least you'd only be dealing with one ugly hole instead of two.

What were you using that one baffle for?

The idea for the baffle was in the event I wanted to have sand in the tank or do a dsb.

I removed the strainer previously. Doesn't seem to do anything. Just had it there to prevent clogs of any Cheto that wanted to come over preventing clogging.

If I redid it I would remove the baffle but honestly at that point I'd prob just get another tank. Then move that one into my closet behind the tank where most of my equipment is. The tank backs up to a stairs closet which holds all my dosing pumps, light ballasts, etc aka everything tank related. All apex and everything is in there. So my room to expand is semi endless.

Well...the dollar per gallon sale is every quarter now. They just had one this month so it's gonna be after the new year when the next one runs. I got a hookup for out of sale tanks at sale price. The dollar per gallon is year round for me. :) Just let me know what you want and ill pick it up. I need to go get another 40 breeder and a 20 high soon.

I like the Siporax idea also. You could make a basket out of egg crate that is slightly smaller than the tank. Fill it with Siporax and lower it in. That way every couple months you can lift it up and down a few times to knock the detritus loose that is trapped in the Siporax. Once a year lift it out to clean the tank. Perfect Siporax sump!

Yeah, I think it would be a great Siporax tank.

I'm fixing to do a big Siporax order on DEC. 8TH if anybody is interested let me know. It's expensive stuff and the 25mm is very difficult to get because it comes from over seas. It's roughly $85 per 10 Liters.

I think I might get in on this. I still am not 100% clear on the size variations and why it's hard to get. Still researching. How much is 10L?

Ah ok I misread I thought it was 85 per liter. In which you would need 10-20 @85 [emoji15]

$84 per 10 Liters.

We can only do 50 Liter "minimal order."

I need the money before DEC 9th. The sooner the better.

If a few of you wanna split 50 Liters 3, 4, or 5 ways with a fellow reefer hurry up and let me know.

50/3 = 16.6 liters each or $140 each

50/4 = 12.5 liters each or $105 each

50/5 = 10 liters each or $84 each

We need to prepay asap. Either way...my 50 liters is coming home for $420.

What Mark won't tell y'all is that he's secretly setting up a Siporax pond and has been accumulating a nice stash from various sources.

:tape::nod::lol:

Don't believe me...ask him.

My Siporax sump has been running for months now! Thanks to my good friend and frag grower PSX! Stuff works great. If you come to the tank your you can see it running in my sump. :peace:

Mark I think this stuff would be perfect for this little low flow tank, output = clean water!

Now I am just wondering how much material 10L looks like? (approx footprint?)

Ask PSX. He was selling quite a bit of the stuff. He have me a bunch of 1 gallon ziploc bags. I forget how much he fit into them though. I could measure my fuge and let you know the dims + amount of siporax in it.
