I picked up the number 3 model from City Pets over the weekend. It is listed for 850 gph. I put it in the back corner(58 gal RR) and let me say wow. I had to move to the other side of the overflow and point to the middle and up. I have a seio 820 in one back corner, and a 620 in the other, and ~500 coming from my return. The Hydor next to the overflow is the only positon that the flow pattern will work. I think I will be getting the number 2, or 2 number 1 this week, and get rid of the seios.

wow. Just a quick question, I've been reading about it alot and have been considering swapping out some seio 620's. How are they in regards to spread? people seem to say they split alot more than a seio.

If so, I may just pick up a pair of 3's. i could use some more flow in my tank. Just nice to hear it from some locals rather than random internet customers.

I think the spread is better..and personally the look better and area easier to place than the others.

After awhile the suction cups would get dirty and invariably I'd get one critter or another that would get behind it and knock em loose etc....
by comparision I was moving rock around last night, and knocked the magnet off the backside of the Kor, but the 'suction' section was sufficient to hold the powerhead in place until I could get the magnet back in location...and if your careful you can move the powerhead w/o having to reach into the tank by slowly moving the outside magnet

yeah they do have a great spread. i like how it pushes alot of water straight and also out the 4 openings creates great surface movement in my tank.

I want something in the middle of my tank I was thinking bout putting one of these hanging from the center brace does that little ball joint allow enough movement for it to stick to the center brace and point the powerhead toward the front of the tank?

I'll probably be picking up a 400gph for my 29gal soon. The price seems fair enough! I was thinking of maybe 2 in back corner facing the middle of the front glass to cause "collision" and hopefully move more water. What do yall think.. too much flow?

that will probably blow your sand everywhere. i have the 4 model 1200 gph and it blows my sand in my 150 with no collision in flow. i finally got it to a place that is doesnt blow my sand very bad.

Poor thing! WE have All made that mistake before. They are pretty much worthless! Take it back if it's not too late.

I really want to see what this flow is like on these powerheads. Did CP have any hook up in tanks where you could see them in operation? Why do I have a preminition of 30 used Seio's at the garage sale? :)

haha, youre right. I thought it would be neat for the current to change, but it just isnt all that.. 40 bux that I could have spent on the hydor. :(
+1 for flow. I would like to see what the pattern is like.. straight jet, or does it just dispers it throughout the whole housing?? looks interesting.

yes city pets has one in the tank and i think it is the number1 model. i sat there and watched it for about 5 mins and couldnt even tell it was on. it might now have been plugged in that is why i was skeptical but i bought one anyways and turned out to be very happy with my purchase.
