Has any one used this to kill algae and their reef,
I may be wrong about the oxygen part then. Any kind is fine. I recommend starting conservatively... Use a pipette, syringe, coral feeder, etc... Add the peroxide as close to the patch of algae as possible until it starts bubbling... Use enough so that it reacts for a few minutes. Do a few test patches and then see how things look in a day or two. Then you can judge how much/how often to use.How much did you use and did you use the regular stuff out of the store? Actually koi pond owners use it to boost oxygen
I think we have the same issue. I remember you posting about this about the same time I started having some bacteria issues. Its a red or pink bristly hair algae, took over the whole tank in a matter of months
I've done this a bunch of times and works well with 50/50 tank water and regular hydrogen peroxide. Only soft corals though, anything with a skeleton would be toast, and never more than 60 seconds. Pull off what you can and give it a quick bath and rinse and most algae should die.I've used it on zoa frags that were covered with algae on the plug with some success. Wasn't a 100% improvement, but certainly helped remove some of it. Don't remember how much of each was added though. Just took some thread off R2R probably.
