My Apogee MQ-200 came in today. So I started measuring the LED lighting in my BC29.
I took the following readings at 8 inches under water.
170 All four channels (1 Warm White, 2 Cool White and 1 Royal Blue)
35 Warm White Only
55 Cool White Only
27 Royal Blue Only
115 Cool White x 2 channels
94 Cool White and Warm White
157 Cool White x 2 channels and Warm White
86 Cool White and Royal Blue
63 Warm White and Royal Blue
At the sandbed (about 18") I get 91 with all four channels
There are no secondary optics so I was actually expecting lower numbers. Besides all of my corals have good growth.
For comparison my 90g tank has 4 VHO fluorescent lights and runs 196 at 8 inches and is 105 at the sandbed (about 23 inches).
My compact fluorescent fuge lamp puts out 106 PAR at the surface.
My ceiling fan light puts out 2 PAR. 8)
I expect much higher numbers on the LED's when I get secondary optics.
