i had to stick my live rock in sump since i had to move i stored everything in my sump thinking it would be the safest place. i had a catastrophe happen do the using a cheap glass heater which exploded and almost everything i had died. moving forward, when i pulled my live rock out of the sump it is now covered in the white dots. someone identified them as "tube worms" but didnt give me any information as to what they are or how big they get or even where the outbreak came from. any help would be greatly appreciated since i am still new i hope you guys can "school" me lol

Upload them to photobucket or one of the image hosting sights and then paste the IMG code in a post.

For future reference, don't post the link to the website with the image. If you go to the right of the picture you will see 4 different links. The last one says image. Copy and paste that one and it will paste your image directly onto the post.

I'm not sure what they are... I have them too. They are a nuisance but I wouldn't say they are "bad" per say (at least not in frag tank). Definitely not caused by your glass heater exploding.

I cant see them very well. If its just small white hard specs its a type of filter feeder, which is good. Not really a nuisance unless they get on your glass. Tube worms can be several different sizes but all good for the most part. Ive got the little white dot ones all over my overflow and ive seen a couple longer tube worms on my rock. (1")

Probably spirorbid snails, harmless filter feeders. Just annoying when they grow over everything.
