just like the title says. im now in Port Aransas. Im here for a job, and the chance to further my career and hopefully get Financially stable. im now work in shrimp mariculture research. sounds interesting doesnt it. I actually feed the shrimp, check their tanks, siphon uneaten food and molts, incharge of running the incoming seawater storage tanks, and whatever stuff they make the guy on the bottom of the totem pole do.i basically make sure the shrimp that we run different feed and growth trials on, so that yall have better table shrimp to eat, dont die it is hot working both outside and inside.

one interesting fact i have learned- most of the table shrimp you consume comes from shrimp farms in Asia.

I miss the selection of fish stores in houston, especially VTF. There is one store in Corpus, Tropical Fish Haven. It is borderline okay. Mostly just your super common corals and fish( of course I apprentlly stop by after all the good stuff is bought).

Me getting this aquaculture experince has made start to consider getting my Masters. I've always been interested in aquaculture, and now that I'm involved in this great hobby, I would like to combine both of these interests. So, I might be asking some of the big guns(borneman, calfo, etc..) their opinions on some kind of direction.

I cant wait for MACNA.

I hear ya. I moved from Houston to BFE, Va. last year, but still check MARCH daily. My only LFS (within 90 miles) tells me "You have to have a wet/dry or you can never keep any corals".

the store is okay, the previous owners who established the store moved to the Yucatan to live on the beach and have a really large reef as their backyard. the current people are good, their acrylic guy is pretty good and has some interesting system/tank designs. the lady who basiclly runs the store is still learning saltwater. also corpus isnt really like houston as far as customer base.
