Ok, I need to upgrade to MH and VHO combo!!! Been researching this for a while and am ready to move...

Big problem.. I dont have a canopy!

leaves me with buying one or building one, and Im no wood shop kid, although Im no stranger to it either.

Ive kinda shopped the close local stores but havent seen anything i like, or it wasnt tall enough, or or o r.......

Anybody have the skill to help me plan the building of one...

Or I also invite any businesses that might have something in town that fits the bill..

Planning on doing two 250W MH's and 2 VHO actinic bulbs.

The tank is a 90 tall oceanic and the current stand i have is one of those kinda cheap oceanic e series stands. All black with the glass door in the middle.

Any assistance at all would be great!!

Thanks,
Jay H

Jay, call Keith at Aquatic Designs and give him your exact dimensions. He'll quote it for you and give you a choice of woods and stains.

He did mine and I'm really happy. I too will upgrade to MH, and ask him to get his carpenter to refit new, taller sides and a front to mine to make it work with the new lights.

Well, i think if you want a really nice canopy then you shoudl do it yoruself. If you are just wanting a canopy then you should try to see if petsmart has any. Mine was listed for 100+ but i got if for 49.99 and it goes onto a 75 gallon. Only thing is I have to paint it black but i have no room to complain. Now if only I could find a great skimmer for that price!!

if you decide to swap it id be interested in some of your duel fixtures however there are easy to build instructions on ebay to diy. i had a friend do this and I laughed at the idea when he presented it but it came out very nice and all for under 50$
