I just got a new 140 gallon Oceanic Tank and stand. They instialled a PM sump with it and a protein skimmer. The thing is soooooooo loud. I mean it sounds like I have a dishwasher in my living room. Is this normal? Its driving me nuts. HELLLLLPPP

Why dont you ask the ppl who installed it? Do you know if the noise is coming from the drain pipe or skimmer?

i think its the motor vibrating the stand too much. THe poeple that installed it are being asses..

Try putting something under the motor like a mouse pad to cushion it so it wont vibrate, but I dont see how that sounds like a dishwasher.

I put a pot holder under mine and it worked fine for the noise.
