I had my tank from 82-84 degrees. My corals were fine. I had an ich outbreak at these temps. That might actually help it reproduce faster. It does help the fish immune system tho.
You can have your temps high with no issue. It cannot pass 86 for most corals. Mine were thriving at 84. The most important thing is consistency and to not have it vary more than 6 degrees in a day. Some people use chillers and heaters for 80 year round but I would argue consistency with a variable temp is ideal.
The only way to beat ich involves a qt. otherwise it is there and as soon as you have a stressed fish it comes back.
