Ya well I had my fish scratching just after I was playing around with my new protein skimmer filter. I just put the temp over 80 for 20 hours no scratching today yaaaa so far

The scratching is called "Flashing" it can also be an expression of dominance.

I'm dumping food and algae hoping they will eat and power through it along with the medic, I don't have a tank large enough to treat all the fish. I do believe I'll be quarantining everything from now on.

Do you have a UV? If so, lower flow to about 300gph. Also, get some VitaChem and Selcon and mix to your food.

Nope I even looked it up to be sure. When fish are seen scratching/rubbing against objects they are trying to get rid of parasites like ich ... It could be dominance as well just never heard of that :)
