Ross tha Reefer how are your fish doing? I added a blue tang last weekend and now I believe it has icy. There is white salt like dots all over. It super active and eating a lot, doesn’t seem to be bother by it. I was looking at one of my clowns now and it seems e might have it as well. My question is should I treat the whole tank or get a separate tank for quarantine. I went to a fish store this afternoon and the lady there told me to use a product called herbatana which was reef safe but I’m skittish to try it, I really don’t want to wipe my whole tank out. HELP!

So the thing about ich... the only “real” way to get rid of it is a qt tank and running the main tank fallow for an insane amount of time (min. 7weeks). The qt regiment must be adhered to pretty strictly otherwise it will fail. If you check the “fish disease” forum, look for humblefish. There you will details for ich treatment. If you are so inclined however, you can just let it ride. Focus on diet and offer selcon soaked food, ich is like, dare I say it, COVID in the sense that not all fish die but some will. some recover however and go on to lead healthy, immune and productive lives. I have had solid, healthy tangs not be bothered by any ich from other infected fish.

So let me say first that I am new and just recently asked this question myself. That said they are all ok...I pulled the clown that looked to be infected and placed him in my tank with my spotted mandarin who also is showing signs of SOMETHING... I put the clown in one floating box and the mandarin in another. I just released the mandarin again as he seems to be healing. I have yet to receive my uv for the 32 but I do have an in-line in my 65 now. The 65 is full of “tough” fish like clowns and angels and a good size betta that has so many damn spots I’d never know anyway![emoji1787] not sure that helped any but yea...
