i have a couple of these in my tank...the one in the first pics is probably almost 1/2" in diamiter and i can see a mouth, so my first thought was an anemone, but i havnt seen any like this posted anywhere...i have had one of these in my tank for a long time back when i had everything in a 10gal 2 years ago but now i am starting to get more...

this one is kind of in a wierd place, but it is alot bigger, like 1" in diamiter...

You were correct in your thinking that it's a type of anemone. It is one of the Pseudocorynactis sp. anemones.

Tiny little anemones, seldom getting more than 1-1.5" across. They pack a pretty good sting.

If memory serves there is a thread here on the site about them...seems to me FireEater was part of that discussion.

Try a search for Pseudocorynactis and FireEater (and me) and see if you find it. If not I'll locate it later on for you when I have 2 seconds to rub together!
