I currently have a kessil a150 sky blue over the tank. I want to add a little more light to the tank and eliminate the shadowing the led creates. I'm thinking of getting the t5 2ft retrofit kit from BRS

I'll making a canopy to have the kessil in the middle and a one t5 bulb on each side.

Your thoughts guys?

Will two t5s give me the extra light I want or do I need to go up to 4 bulbs at some point?

What if you added another kessil, maybe the Ocean blue to add different color. Have them come in from opposite sides to meet in the center which should also reduce the amount of dead spots. People sell them all the time on here and CL for about the same price as those t5 retrofits will be.

I was thinking that too. But I don't think they would mix as well as I would want them too and t5s will definitely fix the problem. I was thinking of going to a 360 but that won't fix the shadowing issue

I agree with RR Man. Two bulbs is enough, but you could always go bigger and better!!

Here's only two 80W 60" bulbs over my 150/G. Not bad for only two bulbs lit.

What color bulbs are those

I agree. The 2 would be sufficient. But if you want to add more. It wont hurt. Never heard any sps complaining about getting too much sun :rolleyes2:
