I had red bugs about a year ago and did the treatment a few times but always forget to do the follow up treatments (i know i know) so im going to do the treatment again AND the folowups... anywho Does anyone know if intercepter really goes bad? The intercepter I have is past the experation date on the package.. will it still work?

I agree with Brandon that I think it is a suggestion.

But to the other part of your post, instead of doing the follow ups, why not just do a massive 5-6x's dose? I did that on my 180 and never saw redbugs again. Leave the interceptor for 24 hrs and do a regular wc with running carbon for the next day or so. Reminder - It will kill ALL shrimp and most pods at the higher dose though.

when i did my red bug treatment, i did the recommended frequency but i definitely did more than the recommended dose. i got through three treatments, following each with a water change plus carbon. i killed all my red bugs, but i had a cleaner shrimp survive the ordeal.

In the past I do a fairly low dose and it get rid of all the red bugs for atleast a month probly more then they just appear back again (and I dont add anything)

This time I went ahead and did about 1.5 to 2x the dosage.
