i think they use the same impeller. im going to buy a 1260 as a backup pump. im using a 1262 currently, thats choked back a bit.

anyone have any direct experience running both of these pumps?

i should of never sold my tunze silence......
since my tank is in the living room, trying to do everything to keep the db level in check.

thx

You know they say the sicce syncra pumps are just as quite if not more quite than the tunze's, and they have a few new pumps coming out for larger systems.

I have used both. The 1260 is more than enough for a return pump. I'm using a 1260 at the moment and I have to use a gate valve to slow down the flow because the overflow can't keep up with it.

i have already purchased the 1260 should get it in a couple of weeks.....just to have as a backup pump. i dont have the luxury of jumping in the car and cruising down to the LFS to grab a pump. everything here is 2-3 weeks out for shipping.

my question is about the sound level. its not horrible now...just want to know if i go thru the hassle of getting the 1262 out, will the 1260 be quieter. my inherent goal is to maximize my laziness, if its about the same, soundwise, ill let it be till i get bored and decide to swap em.

I upgraded from the 1260 to the 1262 and one was just as quiet as the other.
