I have 2 tanks, one 220g FOWLR and one 40g tank with around 12 anemones and clownfishes only. Both tanks were used one sump. Last night one hour before the white light shut down, all my Rainbow anemones started releasing something in their mouth and the anemones keep releasing straight 30 minutes. Both tanks were cloudy and cloudy until I can’t see through of it, the skimmer start kick in skim-mate wet.
This is the first time I see the anemones release that long and all do the same time (Rose bubble tip didn’t react, only Rainbow anemones).
My actions is starting to close the skimmer output valse to do the wet skim-mate, at the same time I mix 10 gallons fresh saltwater, change the new carbon media in the reactor.
After 2 hours wet skim-mate, I collect around 8 gallons of water in the tank and replace it with fresh saltwater as well. I can see the wall of the tank now, but it is still cloudy and both tanks are clear this morning.
Is anybody seeing this happens before? I think it is not hurting the fishes but I never see all the anemones do the same time and they do straight 30 minutes long and all 2 tanks are very dark.
