I both my skimmers running on my 100 gallon tank.
I have a hangon Prizm skimmer and a Nice large skimmer that is suppose to replace my hangon. Now, My question is, Is there such a thing as overskimming? and if so, what are the consequences?
Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, I think you can skim so much out of your water that it removes some nutrition from some tank inhabitants, like calurpa.

Could be wrong on that though.

Since I got my ecosystem, I don't skim any longer and don't miss it a bit. Dang, that stuff smelled and my employees just hated cleaning the cup out when I travelled! (tank is in office)

Remember, shimmers remove certains out of the water, like aqua-nut mentioned, this is why certain additives say on the directions to turn off skimmer when dosing.
