Hi,

I picked up this brain a few weeks ago and was wondering how unusual this color is. I've looked around and haven't seen this color combo before.

Sorry, the pictures aren't the best. I just have an old point and shoot camera. The edges are green with the center a light blue color.

Thanks for looking,

Yea I know what you mean. I think you can only really tell is when it's dead. But like IMO I think when you can see each single polyp it's a lobo. Well it's a great piece no matter what it is.L

yeah, did a little bit of research...

the symphyllia have a groove or something between the polyps while the lobos not so much. but then some syphyllia species don't have the groove which confuses the situation even more.

but yeah, like you said raymond, it's a great piece. and shows i need to brush up on my lps id'ing skills.

I got it from James at Global Leader Aquactics. I think about once a month he has been going out to the wholesaler in California to hand pick his live stock. I've gotten some real nice pieces from him but I thought that was one of the more unusual ones.

I like visiting James at GLA. His shop is always clean, well organized and maintained. His livestock is also very nice. Corals are always bright, nice. Fish seem very healthy as well. I am pleased with everything I have gotten from him.
