So i would like to start using kalk as a supplement. Would like to use it in my top off, but i use about 2 gallons/day top off. So, my questions are as follows.

When you mix it, i know it is supposed to settle, but complete settling takes over a day it seems. Do you just let it settle for an hour and start using..i.e. the heavy particles fall to bottom fast and not worry about the cloudy water being dosed??

Do you mix it in a separate container and put it on a dosing pump and dose less than the amount of top off needed so your ATO still has to keep water level consistent overall? Say i dose a gallon of kalk through doser and the ATO RO/DI water would be used for rest of top off via that section.

I have read and understand the articles on starting with a low mixture of it if using in a top off system only. So i would start at 1 teaspoon per gallon ro/di initially...maybe a little less. But i dont want to leave the top off, off for 24 hours to let it settle then have a big blast or have to top off manually prior to putting it back online.

Hope that makes sense. My main concern is dosing the cloudy freshly mixed stuff.

You have several options you can go with. Use two identical containers and prepare a batch a day ahead in second container. Or you can just top off enough at once to hold you over for a few hours to give time for new stuff to settle. It's more preference than anything. I have topped off before several hours after without any issues. But I top off into sump.
