I'm doing a custom build & am currently leak testing the seals.

Does anyone have a preference on how long they leave the water in the tank before draining it?

24 hours? 12 hours? 2 hours? 1 week?

Water: tap water for testing only.

Is best to start off the tank by filling the tank a quarter of the way full this will allow you to see if there is leaks and check structure preferably want to do is in the garage or a place where water will not ruin any thing. Let the tank stand for 24 hours, if after 24 hours no leaks appear then double the water to halfway full. Once the tank is half full of water let it set for another 24 hours if no leaks then fill stank to 3/4 quarter of the way and let set for another 24 hours. If tank is still not leaking then fill the rest of the way and let set for another 24 hours. If the tank is still not liking it is probably safe to say it is structurally okay. The tank could still leak after all this testing but the most likely not. Hope this helps.
