I'm wanting to do black live sand in my cube but I don't want to order it online without seeing it first. Does anyone know of any stores that may carry it so I can see what it looks like before I buy it.

I will just go by there and check it out. I will be making my rounds Saturday after I go pick up my new sump at fjw.

Make sure it isn't magnetic. That is a real pain when using the mag float.

Was about to say the same thing!
i have the Hawaiian black sand from Carbisea in my 8g nano, and if i let the Two Little Fishies magnet touch the substrate it picks it right up! Not cool.

Yes it has high deposits of ferrous minerals. Not all black sand, but most. If you add it you will HATE yourself the first time you use your mag. It was so awful I didn't even offer it for free when I removed it. I knew someone would think it wasn't as bad as I said, but they would end up hating me. Lol

lol, yeah it is a bit surprising.
It just means i clean 95% of the glass with the magnet and use something else for the bottom edge.
Which a lot of people do anyway since any sand can get caught under your magnet.
Come look at my big tank if you need an example.

I will just have to see how it works out because nothing will keep me from getting this black sand.

I would love to see your tank d2mini but that's a very far drive for me this week.

Well after going to fjw and fish gallery I finally found the sand at city pets.
