I am tired of my canopy which makes working on my tank horrible. I am ditching it for either a MH/t5 fixture of an all t-5 fixture. What do you think
250x2 with 2 x 54 watt Mh/t-5 combo or a 10-12 bulbs t-5 fixture?

I vote option one. only if they have seperate on/off and power cords for timing. you could run the mh for a few hours then switch to the t-5's lowering your bill. option two puts you close to power usage from option one, not sure what the bulb replace cost would be between the two. are you getting rid of the canopy all together? are hanging the lights or using legs?

MH/t5 fixture will be my pick. I bought my son a Sfiligoi fixture for his tank. It make it so easy to work on the tank. I have it hung 17"above water level. I personally don't care for a canopy looks.

I like the look of the canopy but the way it holds heat plus the inability to get your hands in the tank makes it impractical.

Your tank is 36" I don't know any other brand that have the 10 bulbs fixture. I was looking into the ATI before deciding going w/ the Sfiligoi. I like the sleek looks and the qualty built w/ the individual fans. Yes they are expensive.
