I have 5x80w T5 lighting with 3 bulbs on ballast #1 and 2 bulbs on ballast #2. Both ballasts are Icecap 660s. The other day I noticed the 3 bulbs set was not on when it should be. I tried to turn them on and they would not light at all.

I switched the two ballasts to see if I could get the 3 bulb set to light with the other ballast. They came on for about 2 seconds and then clicked off. That happened several times in a row. The 2 bulbs set did not light at all after the ballast switch.

After switching the ballasts back to the original order the 3 bulb set again did not light at all and the 2 bulb set was back to normal.

In summary:
The three bulb set does not light at all with ballast #1 and only stays on for 2 seconds with ballast #2.

The two bulb set does not light at all with ballast #1 and works normally with ballast #2.

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

It could be 1 bad bulb. It could be restricting current. You said you got some to work. Switch aroubd a few times MB and see if theres 1 that wont light in any spot.
