I have to stay at my girlfriends house this evening and wont be home until 5 tommorrow. Will it hurt to leave my lights on my tank all day long?

I would go to Home Depot and get a timer for $10 in the electrical area.

If not, just leave them off. It would be better to leave them off than on.

thanks I dont have time unfortuately to run to home depot. My other timer caught on fire. This 24hr dark period wont hurt the corals?

It shouldn't, but if you are that concerned you can leave them on, or only turn on one of the bulbs. Leaving them on for too long could cause an algae bloom if there are high nutrients in the tank.

What kind of lights? If you have the choice between VHO and MH, leave the VHOs on, and shut the MH off... it would be "dim" in the tank, but wouldn't hurt anything (IMHO)
