Over the weekend I bought a oregon blue tort frag that I've been wanting for a long while. I placed the frag in the sand bed right next to my growing frogskin acro. The blue tort frag was showing great color and polyp extension, but when I got home from school today i found my long spined urchin right next to/ untop what should have been a healthy frag, but instead I found a plug with a small mixture of glue and a small remaining tort skelton. The tort broke a littler higher up on the base and not where the glue meets the plug. after an hour of searching for it, I was unsuccessful and now all I can think of was that my urchin ate it? Or some how a snail broke it and managed to hid it. I know urchins eat coraline algae, but I'm now wondering if urchins eat corals also...

I don't think they eat corals however, with it being a long spine urchin, I feel I can say this with some confidence, the little bugger walked off with your frag!
I have two urchins, they both live in the same rock and come out of the same hole every night. There USED to be two small frags on plugs UNDER their hole.
Those two frags kept going missing, but not simply knocked off and lying in the sand.... Completely gone. Every time I checked, the urchins had dragged the frags UPHILL to their hole and dropped them in there!
Yeah.... I don't leave anything easy for the urchins to get to any more ;–)
