Hey guys I have been out of the hobby for over 10 years but am thinking about coming back. I used to be a very active member in the MARSH community. I am looking at getting something that is relatively plug and play. Are the red sea tanks and lights good quality, or waterbox?

thanks!

IF you have the cash I would say a full system is rather plug and play.

which system are you thinking about?

I went with 200ish gallon waterbox. I've been pretty happy with it so far.

In addition to the other great tanks mentioned above, I like the Cade ones as well. The side compartment for electronics made it stand out to me. All very clean looking tanks though.

I spoke to Dennis with Fjw yesterday and he directed me towards cade
I’ll likely go with the 1800 series 2

i like me some waterbox, but you really can't go wrong either way. They all make a great looking tank.
Yeah that's the great takeaway from this thread. Some might have little quarks or organizations that you like better, but at the end of the day, it's great to have access to so many nice options. There's no wrong answer.

I got busy
understood, early release, good behavior and all....answer your Q- meh, i think these all in ones are overpriced. get the tank you want, dimension wise..drill it yourself to accommodate your liking, build the sump out how you want......with the AIO's nothings really customizable.....kinda get what you get. im working with fractional inches for clearances on my setup...its shoehorned in there but some how it all works. If i went the AIO route, wouldn't be able to creatively do what i want. You've been around the block a few times....got an idea of what you want to make this your "last tank"....

I have a red sea XL300. It’s been pretty good so far. We just bought a Waterbox Eden 40 for my wife. She wants to try a planted tank. I can comment on the RedSea doser since I have the dose 4. Very nice doser. I like the fact that it notifies me when I get low on chemicals.
