My new tank is up and running and I am looking for a good fish store up in the the 290 and Barker Cypress area. Some place that is reasonably close, has good stock and prices.

We also live in Cypress and have been to all the fish stores around and I have to say to get what you want you're going to have to go in town. Village Tropical and City Pets are my favorites. Aquarium World is very neat, but prices are high and corals aren't so hot. I'm not a big fan of Aquatic World on Jones. Prices are fine, but customer service is terrible.

i like the customer service at all the stores here, i actually get asked if i need help....
before i moved we only had 1 decent shop in green bay and i became friends with all of the people that worked there and when i would say "i decided what i want" they would hand me a bag and a net :-(

I will 2nd what Karen said. Stored on the NW side are slim pickings
There is also BBs on 249 and Jones but they are not sponsors. They get is some good things from time to time but have very little coral.
Another good sponsor store that has not been mentioned is T&T. They are on hw6 near Katy though

It is really worth it to go check out some of the sponsor stores. If you become a member then you will get a discount at the sponsor stores and your membership will pay for it self in no time at all.

If the store was really busy they would put me to work. Except in this case it was not due to poor customer service. My wife was friends with the owners wife and they just let me do my thing.

Dont go to Aquatic World off of Jones. Those guys are the worst. They have bad business practice. They really pissed me off a couple months ago when i wanted to buy some live feeders. They had some left.. but when I asked him to get the rest, he said.. it wasnt worth it for him and to come back later. I said.. what are you lazy??? I walked out. Everyone on here who has been there gives them bad reviews.

I would take Les up on his offer as he has some really nice corals. I know I have gotten a few frags from him over the years

I think you are in the same hood. I prefer to get my corals from hobbiest than from stores anyway.

I got a few frags from Lesd. Nice guy just around the corner from me. I'll be looking for things over the next few months to keep stocking my tank. I'll be up for group orders and buying frags. Keep me in mind if you live in the NW area.
