I'm trying to create a new holder for my mangroves in my sump. Currently they are stuffed between my baffles but they keep falling over and the roots are very limited.

I was thinking about using styrofoam and cutting slits in it to hold the mangroves. But something tells my styrofoam is made from petroleum and may not be the best choice. But I also remember people using syrofoam to float frags in shippment. Does anyone know if we can use styrofoam in our tanks long term?

If not, can someone show me ways they hold their mangroves in their tank?

I use those green foam cylinders from Michaels craft store that holds plants in vases.
I cut mine in threes to make them the right thickness.
