Mantis shrimp (1 Viewer)

I found a mantis shrimp in my tank today. Im wondering how long it has been in there?hmmm I was lucky to get it out it's only about 1-1.5 inches long. What do you think I should do with it?

some people like to have them. also make sure it is not a pistol shrimp. they look the same.

im pretty sure its a mantis. Here is a pic of it.

I found one just like that and tossed him in my sump.
Will he survive in there or should i try to give him to somebody?

Thats a mantis in the bucket. Keep him they are supposed to be very intellegent and cool little pets. He will need his own tank thought. If not sell or give him away. He would prolly be ok in your sump also.

I might try to keep him in a seperate tank. IDK yet.

How did you catch him? I can hear one in my tank but haven't seen him.

i just manage to grab the rock he was in after he went for a swim.

great pets, i have 2, but best kept in their own tanks.

I put one in my sump and fed it unwanted hitchhikers like crabs and whelks Cool little guy.
