Found this interesting article that tests many of the popular brands or marine salts. The only one I wish they had tested is Tropic Marin Pro.

https://reefhub.pl/test-of-marine-salts/

I have tried many marine salts over the past year. I started with Tropic Marin Pro, moved tp Red Sea Coral Pro (super high levels), and Aqua Forest Reef salt before finally going back to Tropic Marin.

I know Andre says I should switch to IO!

What does everyone else use?

Why did you go back?

I've used all three. I really like TM pro. I'm using Aquaforest reef right now. I like it. It's really clean.

My Bad! For some reason I thought we were talking about test kits, duh! Yes, I use Red Sea test kits...but as for salt I was using IO, now however I am using Fritz Pro.

Dennis was out at FJW and said he was hearing bad things about it. He had Tropic Marin Pro in stock so I just picked up a bucket of it.
Why do you like it better? I like AF because it's cleaner than RSCP. I don't get a lot of that brown stuff at the bottom of my mixing container.

I like both Aquaforest Reef Salt and Tropic Marin, FJW was just out of Aquaforest at the time. I like how Aquaforest mixes with no precipitation and the elements are pretty steady from one bucket to the next.

Plain ol' Instant Ocean for me right now. Been using it forever. I'm not sure how Triton feels about different salts, but if they have anything negative to say about it, I'll be switching.

Back when MARSH hosted MACNA they did a salt study. I can't find the results, but I think Red Sea came out on top.

I use Kent and i disagree...it is clear in about a minute after mixing...NO JOKE!!!! And this is the only salt that keeps my 29 Biocube stable.
