Ho Ho Ho MARSHian Community!
Here it is, our first ever MARSH Secret Santa holiday event! Who knows better what a reefer wants for Christmas than another hobbyist. Whether you've been naughty or nice, any MARSHian (supporting or guest) can participate in this Secret Santa gift exchange. So don't delay, get registered today and start working on your wish list. Be sure to read through this post in it's entirety, and have some fun getting into the holiday spirit with our awesome community!
Here is how it will work:
- Members and guests can sign up between now and November 15th by filling out the Secret Santa Registration Form. Once you have done this, a message will be sent to your MARSH Personal Messages Inbox that will include a link to Elfster with additional instructions. **Regardless of your membership type, each individual person must register to participate**
- Once you are registered on Elfster be sure get started on your wish list! Remember, this is a wish list so have fun with it! That being said, please do not feel obligated to purchase anything on your recipients wish list that is beyond your budgeted amount.
- Secret Santas will be drawn via Elfster on November 16th. After which, you will receive a notice from Elfster to the email address used in your registration as to whose Secret Santa you will be. Once you have this information, go ahead and check out their wish list!
- The total value of the gift must be at least $25.00. Please keep in mind that you may go above the minimum, but you may not receive the same in turn.
- Buy (or make) gifts and ship them by 12/10/2020 so that they are received by the exchange date of 12/15/2020.
- Delivery confirmation is mandatory and will need to be sent to @MARSH Santa and/or updated in Elfster.
- Using Elfster, participants will be able to send anonymous emails to their recipient to ask questions, send a quick joke or funny meme, a note of encouragement or a hint as to their identity. Remember, you may be paired with one of our younger members, so please keep it clean and light hearted.
Ready to sign up? Here is what you must do:
- Click this link (HERE) to register for Secret Santa. You will be sent a link to RSVP on Elfster and start your wish list.
- Post in this thread with your answers to the questionnaire (see below) IN THIS THREAD (this is our official registration thread).
- Check in to the Secret Santa thread often! A lot happens here and you won’t want to miss out on all the holiday cheer! This is also where your Secret Santa will post answers to their questionnaire.
- Do you live in the greater Houston Area?
- What size shirt do you wear?
- SPS or LPS?
- What size tank do you currently have?
- What is your favorite color?
- What other hobbies or interests do you have?
- What is your favorite snack food or sweet treat?
- What is your favorite fish?
- What is your favorite coral?
- Are you interested in receiving corals as a gift? Would you be willing to pick up at a local Sponsor store? If so, tell us which one(s) or do you prefer shipping?
If shipping coral we ask that you notify @MARSH Santa via PM when you would like to ship so we can notify recipient and make sure they will be able to receive it. If recipient can't be there we will ask them for 2 other days and work out with sender.
