Hi just finished my canopy 4 fans on top and 2 on each side blowing out and 2 small ones blowing inside from the back. Canopy is 12 inch tall - 10 inches above water. Have 4 x 65 pc and current temp 79 - 80 F . Although have set my heater to 78 and at times it'll light up. before the canopy, where my lights where in a fixture right on top of the tank temp is exactly the same. Questions is if I install 2 - 175 watt metal halide would temp change? With 4 x 65 watt pc it didn't changed. I am kinda skeptical in buying MH and turn around and have to ditch them. Thanks for your advice. By the way tank is 150 gallon with 29 gallon sump.

You'll need fans to keep the temp down.

I'd suggest using a Ranco Temp Controller hooked up to a couple fans.
