I'm thinking of upgrading to a three lamp, 400 watt MH system for my 150.

Should I upgrade the system to electronic ballasts as a purchase option?

Will doing this really lower my electric bills?

Will eletronic ballasts fire more bulbs?

I have the 400 watt electric ballasts and I love them, run way cooler. If I am not mistaken you can only run one bulb per ballast. and my electric bill droped by about 15%.

If you are concerned about your electric bill, use the 250 wate DEs. They are a lot more efficient...

MH really moves your electricity bill enough that you can tell? WoW -- One more reason to stick with softies

It also puts out a lot of heat and drives up the AC bill as well.
