My torch coral fell over and was stinging my monit cap. the edges of the monti cap are white. Will it heal on its own or should i break the edges off to save it in case of an infection or something?

I had something similar happen to one of my caps a month ago, and I just left it alone. As long as you see no brown jelly, my opinion is to leave it. The white areas on my cap are nearly completely overgrown with new tissue now. If you do see the dreaded brown jelly, or if the white areas are growing as in the case of RTN, I would snap your cap in order to save it.
