I have two snowflake clowns in my 34 gallon solana along with a target mandarin. I also have a 40 breeder that just has 1 black and white clown. My situation is that I want to take down the solana and move everything to the 40 but I'm afraid that mixing the clowns would be an issue. Can I put them together or should I get a mate for the black and white that way there will be an even number. Also before anyone says that I'm wrong for having a mandarin in a tank that small you should know he does not eat pods and I have had him in that tank for almost 3 years now and he is very fat and happy.

My advise it, try it. If they fight, be prepared to remove him. I tried adding a black and white clown to my 400g where there was an existing clown. I even added an extra nem so each would have his own space, and they still fought. Had to remove the new one or they would have killed one another (and that was in an 8' tank). I have other tanks where trios are no problem. Just depends....
