Finally after FEDEX did all they could to prevent me from getting it , one is now sitting in the wifes (kinda mine) nano . Now I see what all the hoopla is about vortechs

Glad to hear it! They really are sweet huh? I haven't been willing to ante up that kinda $ for one, but have a bunch of buddies who use them in Omaha, so I'm a fan too.

Its nice to see one powerhead produce enough flow for the entire tank. And now that the wife has seen it in action she thinks it was a good purchase as well

You got it on eBay? I thought that warranty was important for a first generation vortech, weren't the gen 1 mp40's problematic? Was it an authorized retailer?

i don't think it matters where u got it from. each pump has serial # that shows the manufatured date that the warranty will be based on.

Just like the real thing only smaller. I ran it at full blast for a little while and it kicked up a ton of funk that the K2s couldnt so its nice to know that is getting skimmed out now. Currently its on long pulse with the max speed set to around 80%. Thats the teeny tiny mag float next to it for size comparison.

Got mine from Greg @ ReefGeeks $195 delivered. I had been on the waiting list from Marinedepot but when I found out Greg was getting some in, had to get it.
