Finally got the time to get a picture, all that I put in are still intact and a couple have sprouted. Lotsa roots have come out too. So far, so good.

Highly suggest this method. 50 of mine died because they were fully submerged. :sad::rip:

Hi, Chris.
Yeah, I've got them floating on little styrofoam pieces so that the roots are in the water and the pods are above the water. The roots have grown about an inch or more since I've put them in the sump. Haven't seen any leaves pop out yet though. Come by if you want to take a look.

That's been my experience too.

No salinity is not to high but they don't like to grow submerged. Not directly under the light the leaves burn fairly easy. spray them with fresh water about once a week to wash the salt off the leaves. Other than that they are pretty easy. I picked up a few too!! I do every year.

2 weeks later, pulled out several that haven't sprouted. Since it was never my intention to have a mangrove garden in my sump, I'll be terminating this little experiment soon. If anyone wants some of these, just LMK. I'll keep them for about 2 more weeks, then out they go. See my post in the Free Stuff forum.
