My black sand is magnetic (1 Viewer)

The other night I dropped a small frag rack in the tank and when I pulled it out, I had black sand stuck to it. I then took a mag float and ran it across my sand and it picked up a mess load of sand. Has anyone else seen this before????

Yeah, some of mine does the same. I've heard of others too.

I'm not sure if you guys watch the show Gold Rush, but in the show, the have a lot of problems with magnetic black sand. I can't remember what they call the sand that is magnetic. Anyway, on the show it looks like about 1/2 of the fine black sand that mixes with the gold is magnetic.
