Looks like my clownfishes are laying eggs now and I might try again to raise the fry. It has been over 5yrs since i raised them. So I need to get my little setup back up and running.

That's awesome news, congrats! I was super excited when my clowns finally laid eggs as well.

id be curios to see your setup to raise them... i hope that you will show us the steps as you go!!!
I use to raise clownfishes a long time ago. Have not been able to collect the fry because they started hiding where they where laying the eggs and my rotifers did not grow like they had in the past.

:loveit: I have always wanted to do this at the school. Cool project for high school life science. Just have to get the new pair laying.

Three year old Black Ice male with a two year old Mocha Ocellaris but they just paired this year after the males mate was killed ( I should say murdered ) by a beeyotch Clarkii. Hey really good seeing you on here. You should visit more often.

They can take up to two maybe 3 years before they start laying eggs.

I have never had much luck with orange clowns.... But I thought I would give it a try again seeing as my water quality is much better since I removed the crushed coral from my tank. but he is way tooo small. I am afraid he will get stuck to a filter intake or other fish will kill him off. He is probably born in Canada to be that small. So for the time being I have him in a clear juice container. Clear container is floating in my tank with many small holes . Today is day 3 and all good so far. Our buddy Bubbles did this cus Canada just had our worse mass shooting ever 22 dead. Some wacko dressed as a cop and drove a cop car replica. I think Bubbles is from N.S. where it happened a week ago. 20200427_085043.jpg
