 I know, I was supposed to keep a lid or cover on it. The way I've got my tank set up, the light canopy covers up "most" of the top of the tank.

My jawfish has never been one to even come close to the top of the water, much less jump out of it.

So if anyone's got a jawfish, and the top of the tank isn't secured, please be sure to take care of it.

And if you see them for sale around town, please let me know!

I lost my first blue spot jawfish that way. My 2nd got grabbed by my killer green serpent starfish. The 3rd tried to jump out of the 40g, but the top was still on from when the earlier occupant, (octo), so he only managed to jump into the overflow box.

Octo-proofing and jawfish-proofing seem to be close to the same thing.

Sorry for your loss man. It sucks.

I can narrow the search down a bit further. There was NO jawfish at Aquatic World when I went through there on Sunday night.

So a call in to aquarium world, and fish ranch II, and hopefully you'll be back in business.

Thanks, I'll check out those leads right now, and pick up some type of screen or crate stuff from Home Depot.

I've never seen a blue spot jawfish, incysor. Do you have one now? (maybe a photo?)

I don't have one now. I lost the 3rd one along with pretty much all my fish when we moved. I'm definitely going to try again. I had about 4 good months with the last one before the move. I don't have anything in the main tank that shoudl be a problem with one now, and I've got a fully enclosed top so I'm hoping that it will be easier the next time around.

Heres' a link to a pic.

That's perfect, my folks live out in that area. Just curious- how would you go about catching one in a display tank???

I won't have to. I ordered a couple extras from etropicals. This way you'll have a 14 day guarantee on it. If it dies, bring me the body and I'll give you your money back. I've already paid the bulk of the shipping costs. It's like a group buy....only you didn't know about it. :) They come in on Thursday morning at 8 a.m.
number is on my website

I'll house them in a 1/2 gal breeder inside my display tank till then. But unfortunately the 14 day guarantee starts from the shipping date which is tomorrow.
