Kevin finally finished my acrylic prop tank and it looks awesome! Too bad I forgot my digital camera at work. I wanted to let everyone know his great work and the convenience of having a local acrylic maker. After seeing his work before from building my water reservoir tank and the PH Probe Holder, i knew who to ask for my next project. You can see his work from the older projects on his website:

Dont forget who how lucky we are to have this person in Houston!

Yes and so will glass. Acrylic is a much easier material to work with which is one of the main reasons why people use this as their prop tank. Their are a lot of pros and cons on both glass an acrylic. With glass you get the green tint, permanent scratch's and heavy weight. With acrylic, its the opposite... you can bend acrylic, more customizable, lighter and can be repaired much easier. I can go on and on and most of it is a matter of personal preference on your needs. Have you ever noticed how the best tanks in the world are made out of acrylic? Look at the Aquarium Restaurant's exhibit in Downtown. :)

Its 50g. 48x20x12. Its a place for me to put colonies and frags that I dont like. I dotn want a display tank full of little frags on the sandbed. Especially when you have 2 conch's knocking them over all the time. Thats the real reason i had this tank made. I also want to frag some of my colonies and put them under this light (will have a 10K and 20K both 250w DE's) to see how it will color up and grow. One thing I am scared of is loosing a coral so I can frag them and place them in this tank too.

Kevin aka Reefalot's acrylic building skills always amaze me!

Not only that.. he knew that I had to drill holes in my existing acrylic sump. So he offered to stop by and drill them for me as I have no experience drilling/cutting acrylic. Well he stopped by today and got them drilled with new bulkheads! You cant beat that kind of service! Thats why I stress how lucky we are to have a valuable person like him in Houston.
