Ok, James and reefsavers, I am sorry, I am not getting worked up, but kinda the oppisite, I love debate. Funny, the more the other person responds the bigger the grin on my face gets.

I agree a picture does it so much better, which is why I always request one. When actually doing business. People are using the latin names, when they could have made up different names, but then how do you start that when you have a good set of names already. I would have used the new names, rather than disturb the science community.
Stag is one of those names, but it isn't just the acros that have a problem with names, closed brains maze brains, moon coral. People don't keep these straight either, like a favia being called a maze, come on people where do you see a maze in that. So if someone says they have a tenius, i have an idea what it looks like, but to do business, I still want a picture.

Now are you satistified I beatting the horse for the fun of it. And the fact, that you might not propergate this naming, but well I don't think its going to stop. I call thinks what I think the other person will understand, so to my mom I just call them corals. ;)

Edward, you got me down on the list for that one, yet? Well put me on there. BTW what else do you have that doesn't have brown polyps?

i was going to do half and half. But I agree, they do heal pretty well on their side and grow more branches. I just like the variety of groth forms.

Tom, what on earth is that totally gorgeous, flowery looking pink coral in the background of this picture?

I think I saw a piece of that or something similar at VTF after the meeting. Didn't look so great, though. :(

I didn't see one there that day. Just the green polyp monti. Some of the things I've gotten that didn't look healthy from there have turned out great. Just don't get that pink stylo..(been there for weeks)

T,
Super-looking G. I love them. I used to have three of them, now just one. I have had it for about 7 months and my onyx perc hosts it! LOL! It's about the size of a softball closed-up and then the size of a soccerball when fully extended. It's neon green. I wish I knew how you could frag them.

It all started when I took all the sand and macro out of the fuge. That also made it a 55 gallon water change. I also sucked out an inch of sand in the main tank...don't tell me I messed up!

Tommy, you should have asked me before you messed w/ your sand bed :) when i sucked 1" out of my DSB a while back, it caused a nitrate spike in my tank causing all sps turned brown from 2 days to 1 wk!! literally BROWN! can't even see the green color on my green table any more! and some rtn'ed. I had to do A LOT of water change (three 200 gal buckets of salts in ~1 month), and weekly water change after that to bring the nitrate back down. it took more than 2 months to get the color back!
