I have had the same one for almost a year. He has molted 2x a month and has tripled in size since I got him. His body is probably about 6" long and his antenas are atleast 12" long. I have never seen him mess with any of my sps or any other critters but I keep him well feed. He has turned out to be the high light of my tank when anyone comes over, they dont care about anything else in my tank but that lobster amazes them. He will definantly out grow my tank some day and will have to find a new home.

I got a purple reef lobster from Kenny last Fall. The peppermints disappeared soon after we put him in, but other than that, everything is fine. He's molted a few times, but he's still much smaller than that one will be. We hardly ever see him, but he's really cool.

Enjoy yours!

I had a purple lobster in the 58g when it was set up. He ate all my shrimp, cleaner, pistol, coral bandit and grass shrimp. He never ate any fish though.

When I took the tank down for the transfer into the 125g I took him back to the LFS.

How small did it come in as?
how much do they cost?
Are there any LFS that carry them on a common basis?

Sorry just now reallized they may start off small enough for our tank.
