Well over the weekend I could not resist and picked up two new little guys.. They are in the QT for the next 3 - 4 weeks.
I hope they get a little bit bigger by the time QT is over with so I can put them in the DT.

And take my breeding pair of True Percs out of the DT so they can have their very own tank to have sucessful batches.

Beautiful pair. I have to ask though, where did you pick those up localy? Secondly do you use any meds in your QT tank? I Just got to the point where I have A LOT of money invested in my breeding system and I am now scared to add anything with out going through QT first.

Yes picked them up locally. I do not put any meds in the QT just keeping the SG very low to kill any parasites sort of like the Hypo-salinity bath.. I think that is what it is called just not quite that low. But they will be in the QT for 3-4 wks. Then depending on their size I will move my breeding pair out of the DT and put them their own tank and move the new guys into the DT. I don't have a breeding system. "Yet" I have been having problems with the pair that I have now so I do not want to invest alot of money in something that I am still new at it.
I am hoping that when I move my breeding pair out and into their own tank that I will have better sucess rate with the batches.

I want be shocked that is kind of what I am hoping for.. I know she stopped laying eggs for like 3 wks when I put that tile in there and then she decieded to lay the eggs on another rock. Then on like the last 3 batches she has been laying them right in the middle of the 4 RBTA's. So I don't know where she is going to have her new batch today when I get home from work.

Just keep it up. I have a pair of tomato clowns that have been a GREAT pair as far as laying eggs go. The first batch that I tried to raise I got about 100 to hatch (out of 500 eggs), because I pulled the eggs to soon and as a result alot of them died off before hatching. Out of those 100 larva I had 4 make it past meta and only 1 now that is about 3 weeks old and looking great. The second batch I had a pair of tomatos and a pair of ocellaris both were scheduled to hatch on the same night. I got about 90% to hatch and then the two days later my air pump went out and by the time I found it I only had about 50 larva left. Of those 50 I have about 25 that are just now making it past mata. and I just noticed that a few hours ago that both my tomato and ocellaris pair are sitting on over 1000 eggs again.

So what am I say? I guess its just that I am still vary new at this my self and I have made WAY too many mistakes but each batch seems to get a little better. So just stay with it and before you no it you will have more clowns then you know what to do with.
