In the 24 bubbles weren't an issue. I think because it sits far enough out of the water that as the water runs down it loses the bubbles. In the 6 gal I was n't able to get rid of them all.

Are you running a light in refuge?
In my 12 with the skimmer in the tank I dont have any problems with bubbles as the PS is about a 1/4" out of the water.
I have the skimmer so the water level in the refuge is about 1 1/2" below the water line in the tank.
